What you'll learn
Practical, Real-World First Aid for Babies & Children
Our 2-hour child and baby first aid classes are designed especially for parents, carers, grandparents and anyone looking after little ones. Everything we teach is practical, evidence-based and delivered in simple, easy-to-remember steps.
During your class, you’ll learn how to recognise, manage and respond to the most common childhood emergencies, including:
- Infant & child CPR
- Choking (with hands-on demonstration and practice)
- Burns and scalds
- Fevers & febrile convulsions
- Allergic reactions & anaphylaxis
- Dehydration
- Head injuries & falls
- Bleeding & basic wound care
- Poisoning (household & medication)
- When to call 000 — and what to do before help arrives
With a focus on calm, confident action, you’ll leave feeling prepared - not panicked.
All classes have been developed by Loretta, a highly experienced Emergency Nurse and Registered Nurse, and developed by our team of warm, knowledgeable first aid educators who specialise in teaching families. Learn more About Us.
Public Class
Perfect for a collaborative experience
Friendly, welcoming group sessions held at family-friendly venues across Queensland. These face-to-face small-group classes are perfect for parents, carers, grandparents and expectant mums and dads. Babies and children of all ages are welcome - though children aged 12 or older will require a paid ticket.
Cost: $99 per person
Ideal for: Parents-to-be, new parents, carers, grandparents, babysitters, or anyone wanting a group learning environment with others in similar situations.
What's included: 2-hour practical session, instruction, demonstration & practice, plus a free Baby First Aid eBook.
Group size: Varies, depending on venue's capacity limits.
Where: These face-to-face sessions are currently offered in Cairns, Townsville, Mackay & Rockhampton. More locations added soon!
Private Class
Set your perfect location
Enjoy comfortable learning within your own home, our private sessions are great value, with the added bonus of being able to bring your little ones along. Babies are welcome and children under 12 may attend free (children 12+ require a paid ticket).
Ideal for: Perfect for parent groups, friends and family, nannies - or anyone wanting a personalised experience.
Minimum cost: $339 (includes up to 3 people, includes travel within 60km of the nearest centre of Cairns, Townsville, Mackay & Rockhampton).
Additional attendees: $99 per person if more than 3 participants.
Minimum participants required: 2 people (includes up to 3).
This is ideal if you'd rather learn in a familiar, private setting with just your family or close group - or if you want to plan a small gathering of parents/friends to all get first aid confident together.
Online Course
Learn life-saving skills from anywhere, at your convenience
Can't make it in person or live outside our in-person service areas? Our self-paced online baby first aid course gives you lifetime access to comprehensive first aid training - from anywhere, on your schedule.
Through interactive and engaging modules, you will receive comprehensive training on how to respond to common emergencies that infants may face. We will guide you through practical demonstrations, video tutorials and interactive quizzes to ensure that you gain the knowledge and confidence needed to handle various situations.
Ideal for: Busy families, remote residents outside our service areas, anyone wanting flexible learning.
Price: $159 for lifetime access. Alternatively, individual modules are $20 each if you only want to focus on one topic.
